the city of brisbane is the capital of the australian state queensland. its population is 2.6 mio, thereby the third-largest city after melbourne and sydney.

its area had been settled by aborigine people for a long time. the current city was founded as a penal settlement in 1824. this ended in 1839.

brisbane's central area is around the curved brisbane river, and the "captain cook" bridge is the dominant visual feature.

the townhall of brisbane is mighty, larger than its churches.

besides its buildings, including many high skyscrapers, it is brisbane's large shopping center for which it's praised. and this includes lots & lots of cafes.

finally, besides all its business attributes, plus many art centers and theatres, this city has an exceptionally large cemetery!
