ANIMALS
the wide-spread poverty of ethiopia shows up in the animal fair. horses are rare, yet many people own donkeys. they are widely used for transporting goods. well-off farms have sheep or goat herds, and possibly cows. wagons drawn by moules or horses also occur.
in some areas domesticated camels are still frequent, utilized for large-scale transport tasks.
how wide many areas are lagging behind regarding modern technology is visible in old-fashioned ploughing - yet at least ploughing is used in many farms!
countless kinds of birds can be observed about everywhere in ethiopia. and there is one unique animal living in hilly areas - the cute mountain baboons.
