OLD TOWN
its center is the (old) town hall. it was built from 1338 onwards, and the tower, 70m high, was completed in 1364. the town hall consists of several buildings which were linked, and continuously modified, including sculptures. the by far most famous part is the astronomical clock (see below)
this is prague's coat of arms.
a very unique building is the "tyn" church - unique because of its towers. they are 80m high. each tower has 2x4 little towers added. the church was built in the 14th and 15th century.
of the towers of the former city wall, and those linked to charles bridge, one has fully survived. it is crowded with sculptures.
in prague's old town are also houses which are painted with figures, telling history stories - here is the most impressive one.
