Taiwan
the island of taiwan is an independent country. it has a population of 24 mio, and its capital city is taipei, located in the island's north. taiwan was for a long time part of mainland china. after the end of ww-2, the chinese civil war re-started. the communist party of china won, and in 1946 the conservative groups fled to taiwan. the current chinese government claims until today that taiwan belongs to china. taipei as well as the provinces of taiwan are full of attractive architecture and landscapes.
i visited the northern half of the country in 1999, yet photographed only occasionally. these pic's have not been edited. thus i will present only one place - the (for me) most impressive one.
