HUNGARY MINI-PREVIEW
yes, here is just a mini mini mini preview about hungary - mostly pictures and a few informing texts.
=H= GRAND VIEW
this is the view from budapest's castle on the largest bridge over the danuve and budapest's city center.
=H= CASTLES
there are lots of medieval castles in hungary, this is the visegrad castle.
=H= CATHEDRALS
two impressive and important churches are the catholic basilica in esztergom and the jewish dohany synagogue in budapest.
=H= ATTRACTIVE TOWNS
one good example is sopron, a colorful city near austria..
=H= THE PUSZTA
the puszta is a large flat landscape south-east of budapest, which is used for farming animals, and many activities for horse riding.
=H= PEOPLE
here are pictures of a man, a woman, a girl and a kid. all in very colorful traditional hungarian dresses.
=H= MUSIC
music is a very big thing in hungary, and the core instrument has always been and still is the violin. all musicians i heard during my visits, in the capital budapest as well as in tiny puszta villages, played truly excellent.
=H= BIG BATH
this is famous indeed, based on thermal springs (natural hot water source) and set up in almost bombastic architecture. it's obviously not just a swimming pool!
so - is hungary worth a visit? in my view, yes indeed, at least the puszta region, because of the uniqueness of the the landscapes and the people there.
