wow - - will you believe this? after many maddening months of trouble re this year's mmeeff, eventually vivid vondervul vortune came back! it's feasible! it's doable! in oct 'my music events engendered for friends' can take place! jipheeeeeee!

so, what kind of music style will be on this time? that's not easy to epitomize ... well, it won't be a-capella, asian, blues, calypso, classic, electronic, german, gospel, indian, jazz, pop, punk, rap, reggae, rock, samba, zydeco – but a distinctive cisum will surely truly happen, promised! may be, just may be, even ssarb?

and which instruments? aloiv? no. etulf? no. noidrocca? no. ollec? no .onaip? no. prah? no. teniralc? no. xas? no. oops - anything left? yes & yes & yes!!! so expect my ixcillint musos to give their best and to thump their muuusic in your ears and eyes.

furthermore, there will be an old chap to lagshare, oops, to lecture a bit about one of cisum's unique ways to create sounds for the people in it and around them. moreover, we will be honoured by a guest musician, out of the chronicle of 'mmeeff'. finally, a surprising deed is due, that's a lottereee - as chase for luck!

where's this to be? no it's not "la porchetta" anymore - but i am delighted that the kent hotel on rathdowne st will host us with pleasure again! so, would you like to come, to enjoy music & drinks & company of music lovers?

by the way, "my music events engendered for friends" is not public, it's a private event, for those who are friends and/or deserve an unusual way of "thank-you", and got a personal invitation.

so, did it go "as usual"? no, not at all this year, not as intended. urghhhhh. the story follows now.

every year three questions are crucial:

this depends always on the event's venue and, even more so, on the availability of the musicians.

It soon it became clear that it can’t happen this year in the usual september – but october was ok.

the plan was plain: again, as in the previous year, “the kent hotel”.

but but but – this flopped completely, because of a serious conflict – so a new search was due!

the three previous venues were checked – yet all are meanwhile closed.
thus further searching searching searching... this here looks very cute, but is of course nonsense.

then an impressive options came up: the restaurant “il carretto”.... see the central space - - and the boss’ mighty impressive car!

bernd was truly excited! and a chat with the manager & owner seems to indicate, at least then, that they are ready to host “mmeeff” with musicians and customers in october.

whatsoever, things always begin with pondering - what style of music this year? and which musicians??

the team tried pragmatism - and ended in a naive invalid decision

bernd was about to find a band in warrnambool - yet could not come true

bernd supposedly looked pleased

but it finally turned out to be be a mighty floppp

ouch! well, then bernd checked out the only other option in carlton-north he new off, namely the st michael anglican church north of the cemetery. this church offers its “williams hall” as rentable venue for special events.

but this venue has no licence for life-music either. and that was indeed the end of “mmeeff-2024”!
this also means: 2024 is the first-ever year, after 26 annual events, that “mmeeff” does not happen !!!
