every august switzerland celebrates its "national day" ... politicians give the usual talks about the good past and the difficult future, and people have an opportunity to show off in traditional dresses and wave lots of flags ... music is made too, and rather strange instruments like the sousaphone and of course the fabulous swiss alphorns have a field day!
