SRI LANKA
the country sri lanka is an island in the indian ocean, southeast of india. its population, 22 mio, is mostly sinhalese (75%), 15% are tamils. it has been settled for thousands of years. europeans traders came from 1500 onwards, first portugese, then dutch, then english ones. from 1815 to 1946 it was a colony of the british empire, called ceylon.
i visited the whole country in 1980, and photographed intensely. yet all my pictures were diapositve slides, and they have not been converted into digital pic's! thus i will present only one topic - the (for me) most impressive one.
