south georgia is a "british overseas territories" since 1775. it has no permanent population, except of about 30 british officers and researchers. this island is not part of the antarctica region, yet features of their fauna and flora remind of it - south georgia is comparable to the antarctic peninsula. it has its own coat of arms.
