while singapore seems to be completely dominated by modern/international architecture, there are still some areas left in which the old building were not torn down ... there is a quarter with traditional chinese architecture downtown (heavily renovated), and a suburb in singapore's east, katong, has several streets with buildings from the 19th century ...
