had you expected that an arabic country should have deserts and oases and surely camels? well, of course all this can be found in oman ... there are large sand deserts in the south, and oases are there and in the mountains... they are less important nowadays and wildly modernized, such as buraimi - but this large town still has a traditional camel market ... i got some great offers there - but i worried too much that the narrow-minded australian customs officers wouldn't let me in with a lovely little baby camel, so i didn't take one ...
