NORTHERN
HARBOUR TOWNS (preview)
given norway's very long coast at
the atlantic ocean, and the mountainous inner land,
harbours have always been vital for residents. this is
especially true for northern norway. main harbour towns at
the west coast are stavanger and then bergen and trondheim
(each of these two were the capital of norway for a
while). towards the north, bodoe, narvic, tromsoe and
hammerfest are essential harbours. for about 100 years
now, the ships of "hurtigrouten" serve the whole costline,
from bergen to kirkenes, for passengers and freight, with
daily schedules.
below are two photos as a preview.
