this gallery is in preparation ... here is a preview ... namibia is a young state, independent since 1990. it had never been a nation - yet in 1884 it became a colony of germany, called south-west africa. this lasted only for 30 years; in 1914, england took over, and the country was then administered by south africa until 1989.
namibia is full of amazing sights - deserts, coastlines, mountains, historic settlements, and above all, a vast variety of wildlife.
below there are two sets of pictures: all sorts of animals to be seen in this land, from ostriches to elephants; and then buildings in luederitz, a colonial town for a few decades, where the buildings set up in the brief german time almost look like a time travel ...
