since china took macau back it has become a pretty modern city, with lots of high-rise buildings, new bridges and a big (badly underused) airport ... it hasn't become much of an international hub though - most visitors come on a day trip from hong kong, to waste their money in the various casinos ... some do look at old macau though, and some even climb up to the old fortress and visit the excellent macau museum!
