KINGSTON

first, two pics of "down"town of jamaica's capital, kingston - indeed a badly run-down harsh place and not really welcoming to a white traveller (to find the wealthy jamaicans, their posh hair salons, their mercedes, their discos, you have to go to fully americanized "new kingston") ... yet in rotten downtown kingston there's still the national gallery, full of very interesting paintings and sculptures ... guess who that musician is? yes, jamaica's most famous son ... the transport facilities in kingston certainly have a local flavor, and it was fun to use them ... some former colonial palaces are now governmental property; attached to one is an old bakery, where a lovely lady sold me a delicious cake with verri menni callorees ...
