there are 8 universities in hk; the oldest and still somewhat leading one is hong kong university on hong kong island. the chinese university, in the northern territories, was founded in 1963 and is now the other top-rank contender ... it is located north of the suburb shatin, on a set of hills near the coast. all facilities, including an art museum, are very good, and the campus' surroundings are pleasant - but one has to be fit to walk around there ... when students graduate they have to wear some kind of old-fashioned uniforms - as do young school kids in shatin who don't know yet that they may end up at the chinese university ...
