while hong kong with its huge skyscrapers and residential towers appears as a very modern city, it also still has many traditional places - most obviously the temples, which maintain a classical style of chinese architecture (even if they were built just a few decades ago) and are full of very colourful details ... all day they are crowded with people who burn incents, pray, get their future 'read' by fortune tellers or visit tombs ... an impressive example is the fung ying sin temple in the northern territories ... it contains fine pieces of art, plant gardens, and about a dozen ancestral halls which are filled with mini-tombs, each decorated with a picture of the deceased!
