my favorite place in the vicinity of mannheim is ladenburg (see area map in gallery mannheim), a small town which was founded nearly 2000 years ago by the romans ... it has lots of historic monuments, a gorgeous little market place and beautifully restored medieval houses , some of which house excellent restaurants!
