equador, a country stretching from the ocean in the west to high mountains and jungles in the east, has a very impressive capital, quito... my first picture is a picture of a picture, seen on the wall in my breakfast cafe ... quito is crowded with churches, all lavishly decorated and all a bit run-down ... the pics i got aren't too good but the two shown here might give you an idea ... many colonial buildings from the times of the spanish regime survived in the old town (and yes, quito does have electricity) …
