NATIVE ART IN B.C.
at the north-western coast of north america, especiall in the canadian british columbia and to some degree in the usa state washington in usa, traditional people live who are called "first nations" or "native american tribes".
they are well-known because of their unique art, mostly presenting animals, in a very impressive style. the dominating colours are red and black.
the other main feature of many tribes are totem posts. they show a series of faces, animals or humans - usualle fantasy beings.
many of the totem poles are very large. the motive is often a bird symbol. they are painted in an impressive multi-coloured manner.
